Imagine doing your job and someone randomly takes a picture of you. You think nothing about it, but when you get home, your Twitter followers has gone from a dozen to several hundred thousand and people are talking about you.
Alex Chrisopher Laboeuf, a teenager who is a student at Heritage High School and also works at the store (cashier) in Frisco experienced this.
When he was simply bagging a customer’s order at Target and by the time he got home, he was already trending on Twitter.
His Twitter account now has more than seven hundred thousand followers, on date of publishing this article here at blogging income lifestyle.
He has become famous by trending not only on Twitter but also other social media sites such as Google plus, YouTube, blogs etc.
Having attracted so many followers, Alex tweeted on 3 November 2014, “Am i famous now?” and this tweet has been retweeted over 42,000 times with over 85,900 favorites.
What was the root cause for his sudden fame?
Alex Lee has revealed that he wasn’t aware if his picture was taken or tweeted until his store manager showed him, “I didn’t know the pic was taken or tweeted until my store manager showed me.”
There is a company that is claiming to be behind Alex’s picture going viral. According to that company, the picture was just a marketing ploy.
If it was social media marketing ploy, then Breakr Company has achieved its viral campaign goal that is focused on “unknown good-looking kid and Target employee from Texas,”
How many companies and small businesses get it right when it comes to viral marketing? You’ll be surprised to learn that social media marketing is something that many companies and small businesses are still struggling with.
